With over thirty albums in his discography, folk singer-songwriter Arlo Guthrie is known for singing songs of protest against social injustice, and storytelling while performing songs, following the tradition of his father Woody Guthrie. His best-known works are his legendary Thanksgiving anthem “Alice’s Restaurant” providing perhaps the most often repeated phrase from Woodstock (“The New York State Thruway is closed, man.”) and his cover of Steve Goodman’s “City of New Orleans”. Arlo is known for sharing songs and stories, getting to the heart of what really matters, and of course, being a comedic agitator.
