Dave Mason is a living rock legend. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his work with the band he co-founded, Traffic.

A master guitarist, vocalist and composer, Mason penned some of Traffic’s most popular songs as well as has a string of solo hits including “Feelin’ Alright”, “Only You Know and I Know”, “Every Woman in The World to Me”, “We Just Disagree”,

Tim Drake and Larry Kosson of the Roots Agency are dual winners of the 2013 NAPAMA Award for Excellence as Agent in the Performing Arts. Robert Baird, president of NAPAMA (the North American Performing Arts association for Managers and Agents), will present the award this January at the Association for Performing Arts Presenters conference (APAP) during an awards luncheon. The NAPAMA Award is given each year to an agent or manager in the field who has shown excellence in the performing arts.

Tim Drake and Larry Kosson, along with their partner, COO Robin Spielberg, merged their booking agencies three years ago to form The Roots Agency/SMG Artists Group. Their roster of approximately forty touring artists/groups include Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Graham Parker & The Rumour, Sandra Bernhard, Jimmy Webb, Stephanie Mills, The Irish Rovers and Susan Werner.

NAPAMA’s mission is to promote the best interests of performing arts agents and managers through leadership, professional development and alliances in the performing arts industry.

Roots Agency to Celebrate 2000 bookings with Vance Gilbert

Roots Agency client, Vance Gilbert, is about to cross the 2,000th show threshold. To commemorate the occasion, The Roots Agency is having a party at the venue. 2,000 is large number of shows for anyone’s touring career, but to do that volume of shows with the same agency in the span of 17 years is really quite remarkable. Vance Gilbert and The Roots Agency will be at The Turning Point, Piermont, NY Sunday Dec 9th at 7PM

This DVD captures an amazing evening of music at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Maine. Susan and her band perform two sets of her classic fan favorites, as well as new material from her 2011 release, Kicking the Beehive. With masterful song writing and musicianship, she takes her audience through the complete range of emotions with well timed pauses for her signature comedic between-song banter. Performing with Susan on this night are harmonica ace Trina Hamlin and world renowned bassist Gail Ann Dorsey.

Susan and her crew have also included “Bonus Materials” on this DVD that brings you to Susan’s office, takes you out on the road, and gives you a peek at the fun at sound check where Susan and her band mix it up musically every afternoon. Available here

The Irish Rovers – New Christmas DVD!

The Irish Rovers filmed this DVD while carousing the ski hills, lakes and pubs of Banff National Park. The DVD includes their LIVE Christmas concert with guest Irish tenor John McDermott and guitarist Jason Fowler. Their friend and Crazy Canuck, Dave Irwin, (who by the way is likely Banff’s top ambassador), achieved miracles teaching the lads to ski!! The pubs in Banff have THE best singers who light up the place while singing along to the Rovers. Watch the show and lots of EXTRAS on this spanking new DVD…
