GrooveLily’s front-woman combines vocals and violin in a one-woman loop-driven pop symphony of song, created in real time onstage. Freely reinterpreting GrooveLily songs from the past 15 years (and with innovative re-imaginings of cover tunes from The Jackson 5 to Lady Gaga), Valerie’s smoky/angelic voice and her innovative six-string electric violin are augmented by the use of looping on stage to create something fresh and riveting.
“Valerie Vigoda unleashes a diva-worthy torrent of passion…”
- THE WASHINGTON POST
“Valerie Vigoda is truly amazing, an awesome vision of embodied musicality, moving as one with her violin, making it sing and singing with it in a voice both smoky and angelic. Anyone in town who plays violin ought to see her-she’s the future.” – JEANIE FORTE, PALO ALTO WEEKLY

Biography
Electric violinist/singer/songwriter Valerie Vigoda is a founding member of the band GrooveLily. She is delighted to be spending less time in the band van, and more time doing things like: creating musical theatre projects with collaborators (STRIKING 12, SLEEPING BEAUTY WAKES, TOY STORY THE MUSICAL, LONG STORY SHORT, ERNEST SHACKLETON LOVES ME, WHEELHOUSE…), writing songs for film (numerous songs about fairies in Disney’s TINKER BELL & THE LOST TREASURE, TINKER BELL & THE GREAT FAIRY RESCUE, TINKER BELL & THE MYSTERIOUS WINTER WOODS, TINKER BELL & THE PIXIE HOLLOW GAMES…), creating this new solo performance project with vocals, electric violin and Ableton Live…and walking her kid to school.
Valerie lived in NYC for over a decade, and moved to LA last year with husband/longtime collaborator Brendan Milburn and their five-year-old son Mose.
